What is CMAT 2027?
CMAT is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBA and PGDM programmes at more than 1,000 AICTE-approved management institutions across India. Unlike CAT, CMAT is accepted by a very large number of colleges, and there is no age limit to appear for it. The exam is held once a year as a computer-based test.
Is CMAT 2027 Registration Open?
No. As of 8 November 2026, NTA has not opened CMAT 2027 registration and has not released the detailed information bulletin. The official portal cmat.nta.nic.in does not yet show a CMAT 2027 application link. Registration is expected to open soon — in the last cycle (CMAT 2026), registration ran from 17 October to 24 November 2025. Keep checking the official website only, and do not pay anyone who claims to register you early.

CMAT 2027 Eligibility
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Final-year students can also apply, provided they complete their degree before admission.
- Minimum marks: For MBA/PGDM admission, AICTE norms generally require 50% aggregate in graduation (45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
- Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Age limit: There is no age limit to appear for CMAT.

The exam is a computer-based test in English only, with no sectional time limits — you can move between sections freely within the 3 hours.

CMAT 2027 Syllabus — Section-Wise Topics
NTA does not publish a fixed syllabus, but these topics appear regularly based on previous years’ papers:
- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation: Percentages, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, averages, time and work, time-speed-distance, algebra, geometry, mensuration, number systems, permutations and combinations, probability, and data interpretation from tables, bar graphs, pie charts and line graphs.
- Logical Reasoning: Series, coding-decoding, blood relations, directions, arrangements, syllogisms, analogies and puzzles.
- Language Comprehension: Reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, synonyms and antonyms, para jumbles and error spotting.
- General Awareness: Current affairs, Indian economy, business, awards, sports, science and static GK.
- Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Basics of entrepreneurship, business ideas, government schemes for start-ups, and innovation concepts.
How to Apply for CMAT 2027 (When Registration Opens)
- Go to the official website cmat.nta.nic.in and click on the CMAT 2027 registration link.
- Register with your email ID and mobile number to create your login.
- Fill in your personal, academic and contact details in the application form.
- Upload your photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
- Choose your preferred exam cities.
- Pay the application fee online. In the last cycle, the fee was ₹2,500 for General male candidates and ₹1,250 for female and reserved-category candidates — the 2027 fee will be confirmed in the official bulletin.
- Submit the form, download the confirmation page, and keep it safe.

5 Preparation Tips That Work
- Attempt mocks in exam conditions: 100 questions in 180 minutes, no breaks — this builds speed and stamina.
- Do not guess blindly: With −1 negative marking, skip a question you have no clue about.
- Read every day: A newspaper or good magazine covers both Language Comprehension and General Awareness at once.
- Revise GK weekly: General Awareness is 20% of the paper and the easiest section to improve quickly.
- Track your mocks: Note your score per section after every mock and spend the next week only on your two weakest sections.
